The full PCBA manufacturing process includes the following key stages:
1.Circuit Board Design
The initial step involves designing the circuit board. Engineers use PCB design software to create schematics and layouts, considering factors such as board size, shape, layer count, interconnections, and component placement.
2.Material Preparation
After design completion, required materials are sourced. This includes procuring components based on the BOM (Bill of Materials), manufacturing bare PCBs, and preparing solder and plating materials.
3.PCB Fabrication
This core stage involves printing, etching, drilling, plating, and solder mask application to transfer circuit patterns onto the substrate, ensuring conductivity and stability.
4.Component Mounting
Electronic components are installed using either Surface Mount Technology (SMT) for small parts (e.g., resistors, capacitors) or Through-Hole Technology (THT) for larger or special-shaped components (e.g., connectors, sockets).
5.Soldering
Mounted components are secured via soldering. Reflow soldering is used for SMT components, while wave soldering is typically applied for THT parts.
6.Quality Inspection
Critical for ensuring reliability, this phase includes visual checks (e.g., solder joint integrity) and functional testing to verify performance against design specifications.
7.Programming
After assembly, control firmware or software is loaded into the relevant chips or modules to enable board functionality.
8.Packaging & Logistics
Assembled boards are packaged to prevent damage during transportation and storage, then delivered via appropriate logistics channels.
9.After-Sales Support
Manufacturers typically provide technical assistance and maintenance services to ensure optimal product operation and customer satisfaction.
